RULES AND STANDINGS


 

BSTT Age Group Points 
(earn points competing against other Bay Staters regardless of official results):
1
st in BSTT A/G: 10 pts., 2nd: 8 pts., 3rd: 6 pts., 4th: 4 pts., 5th: 2 pts., 6th+: 1pt. 
a DNF will receive 1 point less than the last place finisher in age group w/max of 5pts

 

Official Race A/G Podium

(Earn points if you finish on the podium for your A/G at the event):

st in Race A/G: 3pts, 2nd: 2pts, 3rd: 1pt

Elite Division

If you race as an Elite at a BSTT Championship race or finish a minimum of 2 of them in the top 10 overall you are removed from the age group points system and entered into the Elite points system. Once this happens your points from any previous races in the Championship are scratched and re-scored under the Elite points system. All future races fall under these guidelines as well. Points for elites can be scored at any and all BSTT Championship races as well as any volunteering races.



Elite Point System

(Earn points if you finish in the top-10 at the event)

10th OA= 1pt, 9th = 2pts, 8th = 3pts, 7th = 4pts, 6th = 5pts, 5th = 6pts, 4th = 7pts, 3rd = 9pts, 2nd = 11pts, and 1st = 14pts 

Automatic Elite Division Statusgoes to anyone who has finished 2 or more races in the top 10 overall. To be considered for placement into the age group points system due to injury or illness, submit a request to the board for review.


Qualifying
For all, a minimum of 3 races completed in the race series are required to be considered for championship awards.  For age groupers, each person’s best 4 races will be added up for your championship results.  If one does not race 4 races (but at least 3), then all your races will be counted.  For elite, all races within the series will be counted towards the standings.



Tie Breaker – Volunteer Points

In the event of a tie the winner will be decided based on Volunteer points earned.  Season Opener, Patriot ½ are worth 2pts per race and all other volunteer activities are worth 1pt (Maximum volunteering points is 6):
